What take-off and landing feel like
Less scary than most people imagine — and over faster than you expect.
Almost everyone asks the same thing before their first flight: what happens at take-off and landing? Here is an honest description so you know what to expect.
Take-off
You and your pilot are connected in the same harness, facing the slope. On a classic launch you walk or jog a few steps downhill together until the wing lifts — then you sit back in the harness seat.
It is not a jump off a cliff. You do not need to be an athlete; a short, light run is enough. Your pilot controls the wing and tells you exactly when to move.
Paratrike take-offs are different — the wing lifts from flat ground with a powered cart.
In the air
Once airborne you are seated comfortably, like a swing. Most guests relax within the first minute.
Turns are gentle unless you book Performance and ask for more action. You can talk to your pilot throughout.
Landing
Landings are controlled and soft — often a few walking steps on grass, concrete, or sand depending on the landing site.
Your pilot briefs you before take-off: when to stand, when to look forward, and when to slow down. Follow their instructions and it feels straightforward.
